What We Do: We guide business owners to prepare their business for sale, to maximize its value. Beginning with a Business Valuation, identifying key value drivers and recommending what to focus on to increase value. When business owners are ready, we prepare the marketing collaterals and promote the business confidentially, to a wide audience, to gain the attention of the best buyers. We prepare the offer to purchase and advise both the Buyer and Seller through the negotiation process. Following the acceptance of an offer, we assist with due diligence and with the preparation of the closing documents, providing advice and guidance to the accountants and lawyers working on the transaction. We then help the Buyer to arrange financing for the purchase, should it be needed. Also ensuring an appropriate training and transition program is agreed to, that will facilitate a successful transition of ownership to the Buyer.
We do this across a range of businesses from small owner-operated businesses to larger acquisitions in the mid- mergers & acquisitions market.
What Does it Take? We work constructively with a wide range of people, often through emotional times. We are proactive , ensuring we maintain our integrity with the advice we provide our clients. Having strong financial skills and an ability to quickly discern the health of a business, is key to being a successful Business Broker.
The aforementioned skills are teachable. However, the ability to be compassionate, sincere, and honest without being condescending is something that is near impossible to teach but is critically important in this role.
The saying “What got you here, won’t get your there!” applies, you must enjoy hard, continuous effort in this commission only environment, and realigning your talents and experience with new education, certifications and practical experience is required.
